After working as a Tech in the San Francisco Theater scene Mr. Morell switched his interest to film and began writing screenplays. During his writing career he has been represented by some of the Industry's top agencies including Sanford/Gross, The Agency, and APA. He has optioned material, written on both assignment and spec, and had his scripts appear on the "must read" list of several Studios.
While pursuing his writing career Mr. Morell also worked as a Book Buyer and Manager in several of the top Independent Bookstores in Los Angeles Including Book Soup, Samuel French and Skylight Books. In 2002 he started his own bookstore, Take One! Film & Theater Books which closed in 2004 after a brief, but well regarded, run.
In 2004 he returned to the Film Industry as a Producer's Rep and, in that capacity, helped place films with HBO, Showtime, Lifetime, TCM and with a number of DVD Distributors and Foreign Sales Agents.
In 2011 he began pursuing a second career as a public speaker with the inauguration of his seminar, Independent Film Distribution: A Primer for Low-Budget Filmmakers, which he premiered at the 2011 Showbiz Expo in Los Angeles to a sold out, standing room only audience. He is currently working on adapting his Swordbearer Saga scripts into novels.
